Q. How do I register to become a tutor?

A. Click on "Be a Tutor" on the home page or on other pages throughout our Web site. Follow the instructions and fill out the registration form. Please make sure to enter your education, qualifications and comments in as detailed a manner as possible. This is your chance to let our visitors know who you are and what you can do for them.

Q. How can I update my profile?

A. Click on "LOGIN" anywhere on the Web site. Enter your "User Name" and "Password" and update your information by following the instructions. You may update your information as often as necessary.

Q. Do registered tutors work for TutorJapan.com?

A. No. Tutors in our database are independent and interact with Learners directly. They set their own schedules and rates.

Q. What happens after I register?

A. Your information will be entered into our database and will be available in a professionally designed personal page. Learners will be able to see your information including education, qualifications, comments and the teaching languages you have selected. To protect you from solicitors, the initial student request will be forwarded to you by TutorJapan.com. After that, you will be in direct contact with your student and TutorJapann.com will not be involved in further interactions between you and that student. You will be able to give your references, discuss your rates, availability and tutoring style. Please be sensitive to clients' needs. Proper personal conduct and professionalism are important characteristics of a qualified tutor.

Q. Can Learners understand tutors' profile in English sufficiently?

A. In general, students who want to take language lessons on one-to-one basis have at least enough ability and willingness to have basic communication with prospective tutors in English.

Q What are advantages for independent tutors?

A. If you act as an independent tutor,

You can:

* get paid for the amount of work you do and  you can use textbooks and material you like and you chose

* teach where/when/who/how you want

* set your own prices

Of course, you should be respectful of your students as a responsible tutor even if you are independent.

Q. How long can I be registered?

A. As long as you like, of course. The period of membership is basically one year. But You can easily extend the period. When expiration is drawing near, TutorJapan.com send e-mail to you to confirm exrtention of your membership. You can log in and edit your information at any time. If your schedule gets too full or if you go on vacation, you can log in and put yourself on "Break" until you are ready to have your record displayed again to students.

If you need to delete your registration you can delete it after logging in by your self at the loggin menu.  However, take care. If you are a Premium Tutor. Your membership period expires at the same time 

regardless of the length of time  left till the annual expiration date. You can register again if you come back and want to register again at TutorJapan.com.

 

Q Is there any support for trial lessons, making contracts, chosing material, advance teaching, and determining payment patterns?

 

Basically tutors will make a direct contract with learners. But we, TutorJapan.com will basic guidelines and recoomendations for you, tutors and students in order for you to advance effective lessons. Moreover, we offer various documents including a contract template and teaching memorandum exclusively for Premium Tutors. So you can easily manage tutoring and related procedures. We also give easy procedures for effective payment and receipt system to utilize online banking system.
